The Nova Scotia School Lunch Program is a provincial lunch program that offers public school students across Nova Scotia nutritious lunch every school day.
There are 255 schools across the province in phase one of the Nova Scotia School Lunch Program. Families can order affordable lunches through an online pay-what-you-can system that lets them confidentially pay what they are able.
In future school years, the program will grow to include all public schools in the province

CROSS COUNTRY
On Thursday, Sept. 26th we will be starting a Cross Country Running club here at Winding River Consolidated. This will be held every Thursday, afterschool, from 2:05-3:00 until the end of October. During these practice sessions, students will learn about proper warm-up & stretching techniques, pacing for endurance, proper breathing, etc. Students will aim to improve on their own accomplishments from week to week, and have fun while doing it.
We will also be hosting two Cross Country Races at the end of October for those who wish to participate. Students from Shubenacadie Elementary will also be taking part in these races.
**Each Thursday students who would like to stay afterschool for Cross Country Running must return the permission form and indicate who will be picking them up, or if they will be walking home. Students will need to be picked up by 3:00. Without this note, students will not be permitted to stay.**
Thank you,
Mr. Grant

WINDING RIVER CONSOLIDATED believes in the INCLUSIVE EDUCATION POLICY
The Inclusive Education Policy requires that principals and teachers ensure that every student sees themselves reflected throughout their schools, learning resources, and within their learning experiences.
Creating inclusive school environments is in line with CCRCE’s overall efforts to support the wellbeing of all students to be their best and truest selves. These values are described in the CCRCE’s System Improvement plan, which states “Schools will be safe, welcoming, inclusive and culturally responsive environments where each student feels a sense of belonging and engages in habits that promote well-being.
